Rice flour-coated stir-fried shrimps with plenty of garlic, fresh thyme, red chillies, spices and seeds.
Easy-peasy garlicky stir-fried shrimps, with spices, seeds and flavorings from my masala pantry. Served straight from pan-to-table. My daughters favorite shrimp recipe!
Ingredients :
Medium size shrimps, peeled and deveined, about 15
1 tbsp. rice flour
1 tbsp. minced garlic
A few springs fresh thyme
1 dried red chili
3/4 tsp. paprika
A pinch red chili flakes
1 tsp. yellow mustard seeds
3/4 tsp. sesame seeds
3/4 tsp. dried onion powder
Salt and black pepper
A pinch turmeric. I put a pinch in almost every dish I cook!
Olive oil – 2 tbsp.
Peel, devein and wash shrimp. Pat dry shrimp with paper towel, make sure they are completely dry. In a bowl add the shrimp and all the ground spices and salt and pepper. Add the rice flour. Mix well. Heat a large non stick sauté pan, add the olive oil on medium high heat. Add the red chili and thyme. Add the mustard seeds and sesame seeds. Add the shrimp in one single layer. Turn the shrimp after a couple of minutes, once they start turning pink, and develop a nice light crust. Cook for additional 2-3 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté for a minute. Serve pan-to-table!
